Shape

The shape of every Lunar Black pick model has been designed with the player in mind. The pointed tips and chiseled 45° edge profiles produce fast, defined, articulate, and smooth attack. Each shape offers a round tipped version for a more traditional style and feel.

Grips

We adhere to a philosophy of continual improvement. Standing still is not an option. In keeping with this philosophy, we have completely redesigned our grips! The grips still consist of rows of small teeth like structures, but instead of only having 2 opposing rows, there are now 2 sets of opposing rows. This new design truly keeps the pick where you want it no matter which direction pressure is applied!

We will be rolling this new design out for all pick models and thicknesses as we run out of stock of the original pick design. The photos on the product page will show which grip design you will be getting. These photos will be updated once stock of the original design has been depleted.

Material

Acetal Homopolymer (aka Delrin), is a modern thermoplastic possessing exceptional properties which satisfy the requirements of a modern high-end guitar pick.

Hardness - D89 on the Shore "D" Scale. Nylon has a range of D60-D80 on the Shore "D" Scale.

Low Friction Coefficient - This inherit property translates into a pick which effortlessly glides of over the strings.

Stability - Acetal Homopolymer is extremely stable due to low moisture absorption and chemical resistance. Combined with the other properties, Acetal Homopolymer is very wear resistant. The tip of the pick will last much longer than other materials on the market such as nylon, acrylic, wood, celluloid, etc..

Machining

Most picks on the market are manufactured utilizing an injection molding process. This is sufficient for mass production and quality standards of cheaper picks. However, utilizing CNC machining allows for a more definition, precision, and consistency than other methods of manufacturing.

Machining is the best way to make the grips have that sharp edge that will stick to the skin.
